Kalenderflickorna 2009
Our 2009 calendar - out now!

Welcome!

In Sweden today, there are more than 1.6 million women over the age of 45.

The needs and concerns of this particular segment of the population are seldom at the forefront of medical research. Quite unnecessarily many of these women could run the risk of becoming seriously ill due to a lack of information and resistance within the medical community to address their specific needs and concerns.

Even today many women in Sweden are still unaware of the increasing number of health risks they can fall prey to, both during and after menopause. One of our primary goals is to insure that women in mid-life have the greatest possible quality of life and easy access to informed, state-of-the art, health care.

This is why the 1.6 million Club was started; to be a voice for women in mid-life. To draw attention to health issues that many women in mid-life will face. To influence and broaden the base for policy making, medical research and to keep the general public informed.

Knowledge is power!

The 1.6 million club goals are to:

  • provide to all concerned parties, with objective and current information about women's health issues
  • introduce the female perspective into medical research and training
  • work for a more efficient health service and more knowledge regarding prophylactic care
  • encourage a holistic view when it comes to women's health issues, recognizing that good health encompasses both body and soul.
